- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1½ teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup butter unsalted, grated
- 10 lices Bacon fried and chopped
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup milk
- 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
- ½ onion chopped
- 1½ cups cheddar cheese shredded
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350℉.
- Fry the bacon then the onion. Chop up the bacon in small pieces.
- In a large bowl mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the butter and gently mix it in with the flour.
- In a small bowl mix the milk, egg, and vegetable oil then add the wet ingredients into the flour mixture.
- Add the bacon, onion, and cheddar to the mixture and combine everything but don't over-mix.
- Roll out the dough so that it's about ¾ of an inch in thickness and using a 2" cookie cutter, cut it into biscuits. Bake for 25 min.
- This recipe yields 12 biscuits.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, consider adding in some diced jalapeños or a pinch of cayenne.
- These biscuits are best consumed fresh, but they can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
- Reheat leftover biscuits in the oven at 300℉ for about 5 minutes to maintain their crispy exterior.
