Bacon Wrapped Shrimp Recipe

This recipe features shrimp wrapped in partially cooked bacon, marinated in a garlic, lemon, and Old Bay seasoning mixture before broiling. The bacon fat renders slightly before cooking, ensuring it crisps nicely without overcooking the shrimp. The marinade gives a bright, savory flavor that complements the natural sweetness of the shrimp. The finished dish has a mix of tender shrimp and crispy bacon, suited as an appetizer or snack.

Description

Bacon Wrapped Shrimp starts with peeled and deveined shrimp marinated briefly in olive oil, fresh minced garlic, lemon juice, and Old Bay seasoning, which adds a blend of spices enhancing the shrimp's flavor. The bacon is cut in half and pre-cooked just until the fat starts to render, so it stays pliable for wrapping. Each shrimp is wrapped with half a bacon slice and secured with a toothpick or skewer. Broiling the bundles for a few minutes per side cooks the shrimp through and crisps the bacon to personal preference.

The shrimp retain a juicy, tender bite beneath crispy, smoky bacon. The lemon-and-garlic marinade brightens the dish with a fresh note. This combination yields a balance of savory and slightly tangy flavors with contrasting textures.

Using thin-cut bacon is recommended for easier wrapping and quicker cooking. Serve the bacon-wrapped shrimp hot as finger food for parties or alongside complementary dishes. Their quick cooking time and simple ingredients make them an accessible yet flavorful appetizer.
