Ingredients

  • 2 C flour
  • 2 C sugar
  • tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 C unsalted butter softened
  • ½ C cocoa powder
  • 1 C water
  • ½ C Baileys Irish cream
  • 2 large eggs

Icing Ingredients

  • 1 C unsalted butter
  • 1/2 C cocoa powder
  • ¾ C Baileys Irish cream
  • 4 C powdered sugar

Instructions

Cake Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and spray the baking pan with pam baking spray
  2. Using a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt and baking soda until combined
  3. Using a medium saucepan, bring the butter, cocoa, and water to a boil
  4. Gradually pour over dry ingredients and whisk until combined
  5. Whisk in the Baileys and eggs until combined
  6. Pour batter into baking dish and bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean

Icing Directions

  1. Using a medium saucepan, melt the butter, Baileys and cocoa powder until mixture comes to a boil while gradually whisking until combined
  2. Once boiling, remove from heat and gradually whisk in the powdered sugar until combined and smooth
  3. Pour the icing over the cake and allow the icing to cool and set
  4. Cut and Enjoy!
