No need to turn to expensive store-bought snacks with these Baked Apple Chips! They are super budget-friendly and easy to make!

Ingredients
- 2 firm, medium-size apples
- 2 teaspoons of granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon of cinnamon
- Pinch of nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 225 degrees F (107 degrees C). Slice apples into very thin rings. I leave the core in because I think it makes a prettier apple chip, but you can remove it if you like.
- Place the apple rings on a lined baking sheet in a single layer.
- In a small bowl, mix together sugar and spices. Sprinkle over apple rings.
- Place the baking sheet in the oven. Baking time will depend on the thickness and water content of your apple slices. They should be done in 1 ½ to 2 hours. You’ll know they’re finished when they’re crisp.

Notes
- Thin slices are best! If you slice the apples more than 1/8 inch thick, they will still be delicious, but they won’t be as crisp.
- Enjoy these oven-baked apple chips chopped on top of salads, on top of oatmeal, and, of course, right out of the container!
- Use crisp apples and avoid soft apples such as Red Delicious and McIntosh apples. They aren't that great for cooking and definitely don't work as well as other crisp varieties.
