Baked Asian Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb . chicken wings I use organic
  • 1 Tablespoon Chili garlic sauce
  • 2 Tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 3-4 garlic cloves minced
  • 1-2 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 1 Tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 green onion springs
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 2 teaspoon cornstarch mix with 2 tbsp water
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven at 400F. Place a metal cooling rack on a baking sheet.
  2. Rinse and pat dry chicken wings and then transfer them to a mixing bowl.
  3. Season the wings with salt and pepper. Then place the wings on the cooling rack
  4. evenly. Make sure they are not touching each other.
  5. Bake chicken wings for 25-30 min. To get a light golden brown color on the skin,
  6. bake them on broil mode for a couple of minutes.
  7. Meanwhile, prepare the sauce. In a small bowl mix soy sauce, vinegar, chili garlic
  8. paste, and honey. Keep it aside.
  9. Heat sesame oil in a medium skillet over medium heat.
  10. Add garlic, ginger and the white portion of spring onions. Sauté for about a minute.
  11. Now add the soy sauce mixture and cook for about 2-3 min.
  12. Add chicken stock and bring the mixture to boil
  13. Add corn starch-water mixture and cook the sauce for about 4-5 minutes or until it
  14. gets to the desired consistency.
  15. Add baked chicken wings and mix well.
  16. Turn off the heat and now add the green portion of the spring onions to garnish.
