Description
This recipe starts with chicken wings coated evenly in a yogurt-based marinade enhanced with salt, crushed chili pepper, cumin powder, paprika, tomato puree, olive oil, garlic paste, and lemon juice. The marinade not only adds flavor but also helps tenderize the wings. After marinating for an hour, the wings are arranged on a wire rack over a baking tray and baked in a 180°C (350°F) oven. Basting with melted butter or oil midway through ensures moisture retention and browning. The wings finish with a balanced spice blend that combines smokiness from paprika and cumin, mild heat from chili, and tanginess from lemon and tomato.
These baked wings pair well with oven fries or other simple sides, making them a satisfying choice for gatherings or casual meals.
Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken wings with skin
- 50 g yogurt
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp chilli pepper crushed
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 3 tbsp tomato puree
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp garlic paste
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- In a large bowl add the marinade ingredients and mix until all the ingredients are evenly combined
- Add the chicken wings to the marinade then coat the chicken wings all over with the marinade then set aside for 1 hour
- Place a single layer of the chicken wings on top of a baking tray with a wire rack
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) or gas mark 6 for 20 minutes
- Baste with melted butter or oil then flip the wings over and bake for a further 20 minutes
- Pair with a side of oven fries and enjoy!
