Baked Salmon in Foil

This easy-to-make Baked Salmon takes less than 30 minutes from start to finish. It's perfect for a weeknight meal. You can have a hearty, delicious meal on the table with hardly any effort.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb Salmon fillet deboned
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  2. Place the salmon, skin side down on a large sheet of foil.
  3. Brush the melted butter over the salmon.
  4. Season the salmon with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  5. Close and seal the foil around the salmon. You want to create a little sealed foil boat.
  6. Place the foil packet on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake in the oven for 12 minutes.
  8. Remove from the oven and open the foil.
  9. Allow the salmon to rest for 5 minutes before eating.

  • Be careful not to overcook the salmon. It's done when the internal temperature reaches 145ºF and it flakes easily with a fork.
  • If the salmon still has skin, you can lightly score it to prevent it from curling while baking.
  • Creating a foil packet for the salmon helps trap the steam to give it a moist result. Be sure when you're making the packet that it's fully sealed.
