Banana Applesauce Bread

Banana Applesauce Bread combines mashed ripe bananas with applesauce, two kinds of sugar, sour cream, and vanilla to create moist quick bread. The batter is leavened with baking soda and spiced with cinnamon, producing a tender, flavorful loaf baked until a toothpick comes out clean. This bread balances natural sweetness from fruit with a soft crumb.

Description

This quick bread uses mashed bananas and applesauce as moistening agents along with sour cream for richness and tenderness. A mixture of brown and white sugar sweetens the batter, while vanilla and cinnamon add aroma and spice. The dry ingredients—flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt—are sifted to ensure even distribution, then gently incorporated with the wet ingredients to avoid overmixing. Baking at 350°F in a prepared loaf pan yields a bread with a lightly spiced, dense yet soft crumb. The baking time ranges between 55 to 60 minutes and is tested by inserting a toothpick to check for doneness. The resulting loaf is suitable for breakfast, snacks, or a simple dessert.
