Banana Pancakes

Banana Pancakes incorporate mashed bananas into a traditional batter of flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, buttermilk, egg, and vanilla. The addition of sliced bananas on top while cooking adds fresh fruit flavor and texture. The result is pancakes that are moist and tender with natural sweetness and slight banana aroma, ideal for a comforting breakfast served with butter and maple syrup.

Description

This recipe combines dry ingredients—flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt—with wet ingredients including buttermilk, egg, vanilla extract, and mashed banana. The mashed bananas enrich the batter adding moisture and subtle fruity notes. While cooking, slices of banana placed on top of each pancake integrate a contrasting texture and fresh banana taste.

The pancakes are cooked on a medium heat griddle until golden, flipping carefully to cook evenly on both sides. The buttermilk provides a tender crumb and mild tanginess, balancing the sweetness from sugar and bananas. Served with butter and hot maple syrup, these pancakes offer a classic breakfast experience with a gentle banana twist.
