Best Steak Marinade
Description
The Best Steak Marinade mixes salty soy sauce with brown sugar's sweetness, balanced by olive oil's richness and accented by Montreal steak seasoning and fresh garlic. The ingredients are combined and poured over steak pieces in a resealable container to chill and absorb the flavors over several hours.
Marinating for a minimum of two hours allows the meat to tenderize and absorb the marinade, with an option to extend up to 24 hours for deeper flavor. Piercing thicker cuts helps the marinade penetrate more efficiently.
Before cooking, massaging or flipping the sealed container ensures even distribution of the marinade over the steak surface, improving flavor development. This marinade is suited for a variety of beef cuts and grilling or pan-frying methods.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup soy sauce lite
- 1/2 cup brown sugar not packed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Montreal steak seasoning
- 1 clove garlic minced
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, mix ingredients together until well-combined.
- Add marinade and steak to resealable container.
- Place container in the fridge, and chill until ready to cook.

- The marinade quantity suits approximately 2½ to 3 pounds of steak.

- Pierce thick steaks to allow deeper marinade penetration.
- Gently shake or flip the sealed container to coat the meat evenly before chilling.
