Black Walnut Pumpkin Bread
Description
This pumpkin bread recipe mixes eggs, a neutral cooking oil, canned pumpkin, and water to form the wet base. Dry ingredients include flour, sugar, salt, ground nutmeg, cinnamon, and baking soda, which are sifted together before combining with the wet mixture. Chopped black walnuts are folded in to add crunch and nutty flavor. The batter is poured into a greased and floured loaf pan and baked at 350° F for about one hour until fully cooked. After a brief cool in the pan, the loaf is removed and cooled completely, with an optional dusting of powdered sugar for added sweetness and presentation.
This versatile loaf can be enjoyed alone or spread with cream cheese, butter, or honey. It suits breakfast, snacks, or dessert. Proper storage involves wrapping tightly and keeping it at room temperature for up to two days or freezing for longer preservation.
