BLT Dip Grilled Cheese (Gameday Leftovers Recipe!)

BLT Dip Grilled Cheese sandwiches combine creamy BLT dip with grilled, buttery buttermilk bread for a warm, melty texture and savory flavor. This recipe uses slices of bread generously buttered and spread with fresh BLT dip before grilling in a skillet to achieve a golden crisp exterior. The contrast between the crispy bread and the rich, flavorful dip creates an indulgent sandwich that works well for using leftover dip and serves as a satisfying meal or snack.

Description

BLT Dip Grilled Cheese makes use of buttermilk bread slices spread with softened butter on the outside and a generous layer of BLT dip inside. The sandwich is cooked in a cast iron griddle or skillet over medium heat, allowing the bread to toast slowly while melting the dip filling. The result is a sandwich with a golden-brown crust and a warm, creamy center highlighted by the ingredients of the dip. Cooking at medium heat ensures the bread crisps evenly without burning before the dip melts.

The sandwich pairs well with side salads or simple chips, making it a practical way to repurpose leftover BLT dip from gatherings. The buttered bread slices add richness and help to hold the sandwich together when flipped carefully to cook the second side.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 2 cups BLT Dip
  • 12 lices buttermilk bread
  • 6 tablespoons butter softened, unsalted

Instructions

  1. Spread 1/2 a tablespoon of butter onto each slice of bread.
  2. Spread 1/3 of a cup of the BLT Dip onto 6 slices of bread and top with the remaining slices
  3. Heat a cast iron griddle or large skillet on medium-high.
  4. Once the pan is hot (but not smoking hot) add the sandwiches.
  5. Cook on medium heat (I cook them low and slow but medium works perfectly here too)
  6. Once the bottom is golden brown, flip carefully and cook the second side 3-5 minutes.
  7. Wait about 2-3 minutes before biting into the molten deliciousness.
