BLT Guacamole

BLT Guacamole combines ripe mashed avocados with crispy bacon, crunchy romaine lettuce, juicy grape tomatoes, green onion, cilantro, garlic, lime juice, and sea salt. This variation adds fresh vegetable and savory bacon elements to traditional guacamole, creating a chunky, flavorful dip with contrasting textures and bright, savory notes.

Description

The recipe begins by crisping the bacon in the oven until desired texture is reached, then draining on paper towels to remove excess fat. The ripe avocados are mashed to a variable texture, depending on preference, and mixed with chopped romaine lettuce, quartered grape tomatoes, sliced green onion, chopped cilantro, minced garlic, lime juice, and sea salt. This combination provides a mix of creamy, crunchy, and smoky flavors that distinguishes it from classic guacamole.

BLT Guacamole can be served as a dip with chips, a topping for sandwiches or toast, or as a fresh accompaniment to grilled meats and other dishes needing a creamy element bursting with flavor. The inclusion of crispy bacon and lettuce adds both texture and a smoky-savory contrast to the creamy avocado base.

  • 4 pieces Bacon

  • 2 tablespoon cilantro chopped
  • 1 garlic minced, cloves

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Line a baking tray with parchment paper, then place the bacon side-by-side on the tray and cook for 15-18 minutes or until it's reached your desired level of crispiness.
  3. Remove the tray from the oven and transfer the bacon with tongs to a paper towel-lined plate and let cool.
  4. Slice the avocados in half, remove the pit and use a large spoon to scoop out the flesh into a mixing bowl.
  5. Mash the avocado with a fork and make it as chunky or smooth as you'd like.
  6. Add the remaining ingredients and stir together.

Notes

  • Refer to the original guacamole recipe for advice on storing leftover guacamole to maintain freshness and minimize browning.
