Boiled Chicken Breast

Boiled Chicken Breast in seasoned chicken bone broth results in tender, flavorful chicken infused with a blend of Italian herbs, sea salt, garlic powder, turmeric, and sweet paprika. The gentle simmering method maintains moisture, and the finished chicken is shredded using a stand mixer, creating a versatile protein suitable for meals throughout the week.

Description

This recipe involves submerging chicken breasts in chicken bone broth seasoned with Italian herbs, sea salt, cracked black pepper, garlic powder, turmeric, and sweet paprika. The pot is covered and cooked at a gentle boil for 30 to 45 minutes until the chicken is fork-tender and reaches a safe internal temperature of 165°F.

Maintaining sufficient liquid during cooking is important; water is added if the broth reduces too much before the chicken is done. After cooking, the breasts are shredded efficiently using a stand mixer with a paddle attachment, optionally mixed with up to one cup of cooking liquid to keep the chicken moist but not soggy.

The resulting shredded chicken can be served immediately or stored in portions for later use, offering a simple base for a variety of dishes requiring cooked chicken.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 4 chicken breast
  • 3 cups chicken bone broth
  • 1 tsp italian herbs seasoning mix
  • 2 tsp sea salt Celtic variety
  • 2 tsp black pepper fresh cracked
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp paprika sweet

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a large pot with a tight-fitting lid.
  2. Arrange chicken so it is submerged in stock.
  3. Place lid on pot and cook on low, gently boiling for 30-45 minutes - until chicken is fork tender and the internal temperature is 165 degrees.
  4. Watch to make sure too much stock doesnt evaporate - if it does before chicken is soft, add a little water to the pot.
  5. Place chicken breasts in stand mixer with paddle attachment, and bet on low for 30-40 seconds, until chicken is shredded.
  6. Toss in any extra liquid from pot, up to 1 cup (toss anything over 1 cups worth so you don't have soggy chicken - but do save some liquid to prevent dry chicken.)
  7. Serve immediately or portion for the week and refrigerate.
