Breakfast Burrito Recipe

This breakfast burrito layers warm flour tortillas with scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, hash brown patties, and salsa. The burritos are folded and toasted briefly in the oven to melt the cheese and toast the tortillas, resulting in a hearty combination of creamy eggs, crunchy bacon, and crispy potatoes wrapped in a soft tortilla. Ideal for a filling breakfast or brunch.

Description

The Breakfast Burrito Recipe assembles cooked scrambled eggs, crispy bacon strips, shredded cheddar cheese, and oven-baked hash brown patties inside warm flour tortillas. The layering includes cheese both beneath and over the bacon to ensure even melting. Once rolled, the burritos are baked in the oven to crisp the exterior and melt the cheese throughout.

This assembly balances creamy egg texture with crunch from bacon and the crispness of hash browns. The salsa adds a fresh, tangy note when served. The burritos can be enjoyed immediately after toasting while the cheese is melted and the tortilla warmed through.

The recipe includes tips to prevent sogginess by avoiding overly wet fillings and advises not to overfill the burrito to maintain structure during rolling and baking. Preparing several burritos at once allows for batch cooking and potential freezing.

For freezing, burritos should be wrapped and frozen prior to toasting; reheat them in the oven until hot and crisp. Toasting the burrito after rolling not only crisps the outside but also helps seal it, preventing filling leaks during handling.
