Ingredients
- 2 - 3 lbs chicken wings wingette & drumette (without the tip)
- 2 Tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ¾ teapsoon salt
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground pepper
Sauce
- 6 Tablespoons unsalted butter melted
- ½ cup Frank’s Original Red Hot Sauce
- 2 Tablespoon honey
- ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400° and line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place a wire rack over it.
- In a large bowl, toss chicken wings with oil and season with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat evenly. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake until chicken is golden, and skin is crispy, 45 - 50 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through.
- In a small saucepan, whisk together hot sauce, honey and butter. Bring to a simmer and cook until butter is melted and slightly reduced, about 2 minutes.
- Transfer the wings to a large mixing bowl and pour the buffalo sauce over the wings. Toss to coat evenly.
- Serve warm with blue cheese sauce or ranch dressing.
Notes
- Use your hands to coat the wings in the oil and seasonings, this will make sure they are well coated and crisp evenly.
- To make the chicken wings nice and crispy, you can also coat them in baking powder before baking them. This is an optional step but will get the wings extra crispy.
- For best results, bake the wings on a wire rack. You can cook them directly on a baking sheet, but be sure to flip them halfway through.
- Cook the buffalo chicken wings in a fully pre-heated oven so that they cook through evenly.
