Candy Grapes Recipe (Jello Grapes)

Candy Grapes, also known as Jello Grapes, are fresh grapes dipped sequentially in water then flavored gelatin, then frozen to create a sweet, colorful coating. The gelatin hardens around each grape, offering a fun, icy contrast to the juicy fruit inside. Multiple gelatin flavors provide variety in taste and color, making these frozen treats visually appealing and refreshing.

Description

This recipe transforms fresh grapes into a frozen snack coated with flavored gelatin. After removing grapes from their stems and washing, each grape is skewered on a toothpick, dipped briefly in water, then rolled in one of several gelatin flavors, such as raspberry, lime, lemon, or grape. The coating sticks due to the water and gelatin powder combination.

The grapes are placed on parchment paper and frozen at least an hour until the gelatin sets solid and the grapes are fully chilled. This results in a crisp, sweet outer layer encasing the juicy grape, offering a unique texture combination and sweet-tart flavor from the gelatin.

The recipe mentions an alternative "Sour Patch Grapes" version using Jolly Rancher gelatin for added sourness and color variety. Candy grapes make a colorful frozen treat for warm weather or party snacks.
