Carrot Juice with Ginger & Orange
Description
The Carrot Juice with Ginger & Orange combines peeled carrots, peeled clementines or a large orange, and a piece of fresh ginger in a juicer. Using high speed helps to efficiently extract juice, while placing ginger between carrots prevents it from flying off. This method yields a smooth juice containing sweet, citrusy, and spicy notes.
The carrot provides natural sweetness and earthy undertones, balanced by the tangy citrus of the clementines or orange. Ginger adds a subtle warming spice and aroma. Juicing offers a fresh, bright liquid with a clean, smooth body.
Drink the juice immediately to enjoy optimal flavor and nutrient content. Leftover juice can be stored in an airtight container filled to the top to minimize oxidation and kept for up to 24 hours. For longer storage, freezing is possible by allowing space for expansion in the container; frozen juice can keep for up to 6 months.
Ingredients
- 1 pound carrot tops removed
- 2 clementines , peeled (or 1 large orange)
- 1 inch ginger fresh
Instructions
- If your juicer has two speeds, turn it on using the high speed. Add the juice ingredients into the chute, then use the tamper to press them against the blades of the juicer. Repeat until you've juiced all of the carrots, oranges, and ginger. (Tip: If your juicer has a large chute, place the ginger between a few carrots, so it won't fly around or go straight into the pulp basket.)
- Enjoy the juice right away for the best flavor and the most nutrients. If you need to store any leftovers, fill an airtight container all the way to the top, then secure the lid to slow down oxidation. Aim to drink the rest of the juice within 24 hours for the best flavor. (See the notes if you need to store longer.)
Notes
- Nutrition info covers the entire batch; values are estimated and not guaranteed.
- Cold-press or masticating juicers help reduce oxidation, preserving flavor longer than centrifugal juicers.
- Leave an inch of space in airtight containers when freezing juice to allow for expansion and avoid breakage.
- Frozen juice can be stored safely up to 6 months.
