Ingredients

Servings
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup onion diced
  • 1 pound ground beef lean
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons mustard
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • 4 whole wheat flour tortilla large
  • 4 lices cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup lettuce shredded
  • 1 tomato sliced, large
  • pickle slices optional
  • ketchup mustard, or mayonnaise (optional, additional

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until softened, about 3 minutes.
  2. Place lean ground beef in the skillet. Cook it while breaking it apart with a spoon until it’s browned and no longer pink, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain any excess fat if needed.
  3. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to blend flavors. Remove from heat.
  4. Heat the flour tortillas in a skillet or microwave until they become pliable.
  5. Place a slice of cheddar cheese in the center of each tortilla. Spoon an even portion of the beef mixture over the cheese.
  6. Add shredded lettuce, tomato slices, and, if desired, pickle slices on top of the beef.
  7. Drizzle additional ketchup, mustard, or mayonnaise over the fillings if you like.
  8. Fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling, then roll it up tightly from the bottom to secure the wrap.
  9. Heat a nonstick skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Place the wraps seam-side down on the skillet. Cook for 2-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  10. Remove from skillet. Slice each wrap in half if desired and serve warm.
