Ingredients
- 3 cups pre-cooked diced ham
- 6 cups diced bread with the crust removed I used sliced sourdough - about 7 slices
- 1/2 pound sharp cheddar cheese cut in chunks
- 6 large eggs beaten
- 3 cups milk whole
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard powder
Instructions
- Grease a 9 x 13 inch casserole dish with butter or non-stick cooking spray
- Toss bread and ham together and put on the bottom of the prepared casserole dish.
- Add cheese chunks to the top of the bread and ham.
- In a large bowl whisk together milk, eggs, mustard powder, salt and pepper. Pour over the casserole and press down any pieces of bread that sticks up so that each piece has an egg coating. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Add casserole and bake uncovered for about an hour or until cheese is melted and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
