Cherry Mojito Recipe
Description
The Cherry Mojito Recipe features a homemade cherry syrup made by simmering fresh pitted cherries with water and sweetener to create a bright, fruity base. This syrup replaces traditional sugar in a classic mojito to provide a cherry flavor that enhances the refreshing qualities of lime and mint. The cocktail is prepared by muddling fresh mint leaves before adding ice, rum, cherry syrup, and lime juice, then topping it with club soda for fizz. The resulting drink presents layers of tart cherry, fresh herbaceous mint, and crisp carbonation from the club soda, offering a lively and flavorful beverage.
The cocktail is garnished with fresh cherries, lime slices, and mint sprigs to highlight its ingredients. It serves well as a casual cocktail to enjoy on warm days or social occasions that call for a fresh, fruit-infused mixed drink. Adjusting the quantity of cherry syrup allows control over sweetness.
Frozen cherries can substitute fresh cherries for the syrup but may require longer simmering to achieve the proper consistency. Straining the syrup is optional if a smoother texture is preferred. Sweetener choices include liquid stevia, granulated sugar, or sugar alternatives to accommodate dietary preferences.
