Chicken Drumsticks in Oven

This oven-baked chicken drumsticks recipe uses a seasoned Bisquick coating and melted butter for a crispy, flavorful crust. The drumsticks are baked at high heat then flipped to finish cooking, producing tender meat with a spiced, golden exterior. Butter bastes keep the coating moist and add richness.

Description

Chicken drumsticks are coated in a mixture of Bisquick, paprika, salt, and black pepper that creates a flavorful, slightly crispy crust when baked. The drumsticks are arranged in a baking dish with melted butter, which helps keep them moist and develops a golden-brown finish. A second butter coating during cooking enhances richness.

Baking begins at 425°F with an initial 30 minutes, followed by flipping and baking for another 15 to 25 minutes until the meat is cooked through and the coating is crisp. The cooking method balances a crispy exterior with juicy chicken inside.

Leftover drumsticks should be refrigerated promptly and discarded if left at room temperature beyond two hours. For freezing, wrap or store in airtight containers for several months. Reheating in a 325°F oven restores crispness and warmth.
