Chicken Enchilada Dip Recipe
Description
This recipe combines softened cream cheese with light sour cream, green enchilada sauce, diced green chilies, cumin, chili powder, and kosher salt. After whisking the base together, shredded cooked chicken and most of the Monterey jack cheese are folded in, then baked in a cast-iron skillet. Once baked for 30 minutes, the remaining cheese is added on top and browned under the broiler until bubbly and lightly golden.
The dip features creamy, cheesy textures with a mild to moderate heat from the enchilada sauce and chilies. The cumin and chili powder enhance the southwestern flavor profile. Using cooked shredded chicken adds protein and a hearty element to the rich and tangy base.
This dip is served hot with chips, crackers, or vegetables. It works well as a party snack or appetizer offering familiar enchilada flavors in a convenient dip form.
