Chinese BBQ Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, Chinese five-spice powder, sesame oil, and ground ginger.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir the mixture until well combined.
  3. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
  4. Remove from heat and allow the sauce to cool. Use immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
