Instructions

  1. Slice 3 Apple into slices about 1cm/0.5inch thick.
  2. Add 200 g Chocolate and 1 tablespoon Coconut oil to a microwavable bowl. Microwave until everything has melted. Heat in 30 second bursts so that the chocolate doesn't burn.
  3. Make a small incision in each slice of apple and carefully push one of the sticks into each slice.
  4. Coat each apple in chocolate and place on a lined tray.
  5. Decorate with different sprinkled, sweets, nuts and biscuits.

Notes

  • If you don't want to eat a big apple slice like this, then you could just cut them into wedges and put them on smaller sticks and dip them in chocolate. But, the bigger they are, the more toppings that can fit on.
  • Make sure the apples are well washed and dried before you slice them.
  • Use a sharp knife to put a little slit in the bottom of the apple slice so you can easily get the stick in them.
  • Make sure your apple slices are not too thin, otherwise you won't be able to get the sticks in them without snapping.
  • Melt the chocolate in 30 second bursts in the microwave to make sure that the chocolate doesn't burn.
  • Use a spoon to add chocolate on to the apples to ensure that everything is covered.
  • Let the excess chocolate drip off before putting the chocolate dipped apples on the baking paper.
  • Dry toppings like nuts and sprinkles can be added right away, but for wet toppings like nut butter and caramel, it's best to wait until the chocolate covered apples have set.
  • If you are making this with kids, have everything ready and set out in a row and have a little production line going.
