Chocolate Orange Panettone Pudding
Description
Chocolate Orange Panettone Pudding starts with buttered panettone slices arranged in a baking dish, which are soaked in a custard blend comprised of eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and fresh orange zest. The addition of dark chocolate chips scattered on top adds pockets of rich chocolate flavor. After resting to absorb the custard, the dish is baked at a moderate temperature until it turns golden and firms up. The resulting pudding is creamy and yields a tender crumb from the panettone, with citrus brightness from the orange zest and chocolate richness balancing each bite.
This pudding makes a distinctive dessert, offering a sweet finish to a meal that showcases festive bread in a warm, custard setting. It can be served warm or at room temperature, suitable for occasions where a comforting dessert is desired.
