Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Balls

Chewy protein balls combining rolled oats, natural peanut butter, and chocolate protein powder, with a touch of honey and chocolate chips for sweetness. These no-bake snacks bring a rich peanut chocolate flavor with a soft texture, ideal for on-the-go energy boosts or post-workout snacks.

Description

Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Balls blend rolled oats and natural peanut butter into a thick mixture sweetened with honey and packed with chocolate protein powder for added nutrition. Chocolate chips add texture and cocoa richness. The dough is firm enough to be shaped by hand into small balls and chilled to set.

The combination of oats and nut butter imparts a chewy, satisfying bite. The protein powder and peanut butter provide a creamy, nutty flavor enhanced by the bits of melted chocolate chips throughout.

Store these protein balls covered in the refrigerator or freezer to maintain freshness and firmness. They can be enjoyed as portable snacks or quick energy bites.

You can vary the recipe by substituting other nut butters like almond or cashew, using different protein powder flavors, or adding dried fruits and seeds in place of chocolate chips for diverse textures and tastes.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 ½ cups rolled oats old fashioned
  • 1 cup peanut butter natural
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 coops chocolate protein powder (50-60 grams)
  • 2 Tablespoons chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Place oats, peanut butter, honey, protein powder and chocolate chips in a large bowl and stir to combine.
  2. Getting the mixture to combine takes a little arm muscle and it may seem too thick at first, but it will come together as you keep mixing. I used my hands to knead the dough near the end and that seems to help.
  3. Once combined, use a small cookie scoop to scoop and form the dough into balls.
  4. Store in a covered container in the fridge or freezer.

Notes

  • Maple syrup can replace honey as a natural sweetener in the recipe.
  • Almond butter, cashew butter, tahini, or sunflower butter are good alternatives to peanut butter.
  • Chocolate protein powder is preferred for flavor pairing, but any protein powder can be used according to your preference.
  • Instead of chocolate chips, try dried cranberries, raisins, shredded coconut, crushed nuts, cacao nibs, chia seeds, or ground flax seeds for different textures.
