  • cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • black pepper freshly ground, pinch
  • 1 pound crab meat roughly chopped, or imitation crab meat
  • 2 celery finely diced, ribs
  • 2 tablespoons shallot finely diced, or red onion
  • 1 tablespoon parsley roughly chopped fresh herbs
  • 1 tablespoon chive
  • 1 tablespoon dill

Instructions

  1. Make the dressing. To make the dressing, stir together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, mustard, paprika, salt and pepper. Set aside.
  2. Stir it all together. Add the crab, celery and shallot to a large mixing bowl. Pour the dressing on top and stir it all together.
  3. Garnish. Sprinkle fresh herbs on top for garnish. Serve immediately or chill.

Notes

  • Use fresh or good quality imitation crab meat to enhance flavor.
  • Chilling the salad before serving helps meld the flavors without sogging the celery.
