Cloud Bread Recipe

Cloud Bread is a light, airy bread alternative made from whipped egg whites folded with egg yolks and cream cheese, lightly sweetened with Splenda or sugar. Its delicate texture resembles a soft meringue, offering a gluten-free option for sandwiches or toast-like uses without traditional flour.

Description

This recipe starts by beating egg whites with cream of tartar to stiff peaks, creating a fluffy base. Meanwhile, egg yolks mix with softened cream cheese and a sweetener such as Splenda, sugar, or honey, forming a smooth mixture. Folding the yolk mixture gently into the whites preserves the airy structure critical to Cloud Bread's signature lightness.

Shaped into disks and baked at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 minutes on parchment paper, the bread develops a golden brown surface and sets while retaining softness inside. Once cooled, the bread can be used as a substitute for traditional bread where low carbs or gluten avoidance is desired.
