Crab Cakes
Description
The recipe starts by mixing crabmeat with dry breadcrumbs, fresh parsley, kosher salt, and coarsely ground black pepper. An egg and mayonnaise mixture seasoned with hot sauce and dry mustard binds the ingredients, forming uniform patties. Cooking is done in a skillet with butter; half the butter is used initially to fry the cakes for about 5-7 minutes per side to develop a golden crust. The remaining butter is added after flipping to finish cooking.
The technique highlights a balance of crispy outer layers with a soft crab filling, enhanced by subtle spice and seasoning. The method is straightforward, suitable for home cooks seeking a classic crab cake with simple ingredients. Serving options include pairing with sauces or sides as preferred.
