Cranberry Baked Brie
Description
This Cranberry Baked Brie begins with a wheel of Brie placed on rolled-out refrigerated puff pastry. The Brie is topped with whole-berry cranberry sauce and a blend of chopped pecans and walnuts. The puff pastry is folded around the cheese, sealed and brushed with beaten egg for a glossy finish. Optional decorative puff pastry shapes may be added on top. It is baked at 425°F for about 20-25 minutes until the pastry is golden brown and crisp.
The result is a warm, gooey Brie interior with tart cranberry and crunchy nuts balanced by the buttery, flaky puff pastry crust. Baking melts the cheese gently while the cranberry sauce adds fruitiness and a slight tang. The nuts provide contrast in texture and a toasty flavor. Fresh grapes, apple slices, baguette, or crackers complement the savory richness when serving.
This appetizer can be prepared up to a day ahead by wrapping the Brie in puff pastry and refrigerating. Egg wash and decorations are added just before baking. It offers a shareable portion suited for 8 generous or 16 smaller servings, ideal for entertaining or festive occasions.
