Cranberry Jello Salad

Cranberry Jello Salad combines finely chopped fresh cranberries, apple, and orange with chopped pecans and sugar, mixed into a raspberry and cherry gelatin base. The mixture is chilled overnight until set into a festive, textured gelatin salad featuring tart fruit pieces and crunchy nuts.

Description

Cranberry Jello Salad uses fresh cranberries pulsed with peeled orange and apple until finely chopped, providing a bright and tart fruit base. Chopped pecans add a crunchy contrast, while sugar balances the tartness. The mixture is allowed to rest in the refrigerator to meld flavors and soften slightly before adding dissolved cherry and raspberry flavored gelatin made with boiling water.

Once combined, the gelatin mixture is poured into a casserole dish or mold and refrigerated overnight to set firmly. The salad therefore has a firm, slightly wobbly gelatin structure with dispersed tender fruit pieces and pecans for varied texture.

This chilled salad is typically served as a side dish or a light dessert during holiday meals, offering a refreshing fruity taste and a visually appealing pinkish color. It provides a seasonal use for cranberries and a contrast to richer foods on the table.
