Cranberry Orange Sangria
Description
This sangria starts with a cranberry sugar syrup made by boiling cranberries, sugar, and water until the berries burst and release their juice. Straining the syrup removes solids, leaving a brightly colored, tart liquid. This homemade syrup forms the base for the drink.
Combining the syrup with a bottle of chardonnay, fresh orange slices, additional cranberries, and a cinnamon stick in a pitcher allows the flavors to meld while chilling in the refrigerator. The cinnamon adds subtle aromatic warmth, balancing the tart cranberries and sweet citrus notes from the orange slices.
Chilling the sangria for 3 to 4 hours before serving ensures that the flavors are well integrated. The result is a refreshing, fruity white wine beverage with festive flavors suitable for social occasions or summertime enjoyment.
