Cream Cheese Mints
Description
Cream Cheese Mints start with a base of softened cream cheese mixed with peppermint extract for flavor. Confectioners' sugar is gradually incorporated to form a dough, which is then rolled out to a quarter-inch thickness. Small circles are cut out, typically one inch in diameter, to create uniform, bite-sized mints. Over 2 to 3 hours, the mints harden as they rest, developing a firm but creamy texture with a cool peppermint taste. Coloring can be added to tint the dough for visual appeal or themed treats.
The resulting mints offer a smooth, sweet, and refreshing palate that pairs well with tea or coffee. Their small size makes them suitable as after-dinner palate cleansers or treats at gatherings. They store well once hardened, keeping their texture and flavor for several days.
