Cream Cheese Wontons

Cream Cheese Wontons consist of wonton wrappers filled with a seasoned cream cheese mixture including green onions and garlic powder, folded into a star shape and deep-fried until golden and crispy. These bite-sized appetizers feature a creamy, savory center surrounded by a light, crunchy exterior, suitable for serving as a snack or party finger food.

Description

The recipe starts with softening cream cheese, then mixing it with diced green onions, garlic powder, and salt until smooth. A teaspoon of this filling is placed into the center of each wonton wrapper, which is moistened at the edges with water to seal into a star shape.

The wontons are fried in neutral oil heated to a medium-high temperature, submerging the wrappers partially and frying them for 2 to 3 minutes until evenly golden and crispy. Draining on paper towels removes excess oil before serving.

These wontons can be served plain or accompanied with dipping sauces such as sweet and sour, adding a complementary tang to the creamy filling. Their crisp outside contrasted with the soft cheese inside makes them appealing for casual gatherings or appetizers.
