Crispy Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Crispy Roasted Brussels Sprouts are halved Brussels sprouts tossed in olive oil, kosher salt, black pepper, and optional garlic powder, then roasted until tender inside and crisp outside. They can be finished with grated Parmesan cheese, adding savory richness and a hint of umami.

Description

To prepare, cut off the brown ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any yellow or dry leaves before slicing them in half lengthwise. Toss with olive oil, kosher salt, black pepper, and, if desired, garlic powder to coat evenly. Spread on a baking sheet and roast at 425 degrees F for 35 to 45 minutes. The roasting time allows the sprouts to develop crispy edges while keeping the centers tender.

Adding freshly grated Parmesan as a garnish after roasting adds a sharp, salty flavor that complements the natural sweetness of roasted Brussels sprouts. This recipe provides a basic approach to achieving a crisp texture without overcomplicating seasoning, letting the vegetable’s flavor shine.

Serve warm as a side dish to accompany a variety of main courses or as a roasted vegetable snack.
