Crispy Roasted Okra
Description
This recipe for Crispy Roasted Okra uses a single layer of oiled okra pieces spread apart on a baking tray to ensure even roasting and crispiness. The okra is seasoned simply with salt and chili flakes for a balance of savory heat. Baking at a high temperature for about 20-25 minutes, with a turn halfway through, ensures a crunchy exterior without sogginess.
The garlic chili mayonnaise dipping sauce is made by blending garlic mayonnaise with sweet chili sauce, offering a creamy, spicy, and slightly sweet accompaniment that pairs well with the roasted okra's natural flavor and crisp texture.
This dish can be served warm or cold, making it suitable for casual snacking or as a flavorful side. Proper spacing and turning the okra during roasting help avoid steaming, ensuring the desired crunchiness.
Adjusting the chili flakes allows control over the heat level in this recipe. The dip can also be prepared ahead and refrigerated, ready to serve alongside freshly roasted okra.
