Crock Pot Beef Stroganoff Recipe

Beef Stroganoff made in a crock pot combines stew beef, mushrooms, onions, and a richly flavored broth with Worcestershire sauce and seasonings, slow-cooked until tender. The noodles are cooked separately and combined with sour cream and Dijon mustard at the end to create a creamy, tangy sauce coating tender beef and sautéed mushrooms for a comforting meal.

Description

This Crock Pot Beef Stroganoff Recipe involves layering beef stew meat, mushrooms, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, broth, and herbs in a slow cooker to develop flavor and tenderness over 8 to 9 hours on low heat. The long cooking breaks down the meat, resulting in a soft texture.

The egg noodles cook separately to maintain their shape and texture and are added near the end. Stirring in sour cream and Dijon mustard at the last stage creates a creamy, slightly tangy sauce that contrasts with the savory, slow-cooked beef and mushrooms.

The dish balances richness from the sour cream and buttery noodles with the umami from Worcestershire and mushrooms. It’s a warm, filling meal served best fresh after cooking.

A practical tip is to cut large pieces of stew meat into smaller, bite-size pieces before cooking to ensure even cooking and easy eating.
