Description
This recipe uses a slow cooker to gently cook boneless pork chops submerged in a broth mixed with pork gravy seasoning and aromatics including onion and garlic powders and freshly ground black pepper. Cooking occurs on high or low heat over several hours, allowing the flavors to meld and the pork to become tender. Near the end of cooking, a cornstarch slurry combined with heavy cream is added to thicken the cooking liquid into a creamy sauce that coats the pork. Ingredients
- 2 pounds pork chops boneless
- 1 (0.87-ounce) Pork Gravy Mix packet
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup beef broth
- ½ teaspoon black pepper ground
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
Instructions
- Add 1 (0.87-ounce) packet pork gravy mix, ½ teaspoon onion powder, ½ teaspoon garlic powder, 1 cup beef broth, and ½ teaspoon ground black pepper to a 4 or 7-quart slow cooker and stir to combine.
- Add 2 pounds boneless pork chops and submerge them in the liquid as best you can.
- Cook on HIGH for 3-4 hours or LOW for 6-8 hours.
- About 10 minutes before serving, combine 2 tablespoons cornstarch and 2 tablespoons water in a small bowl and add it to the slow cooker along with ¼ cup heavy whipping cream. Stir until combined, then cover and cook for 10 more minutes to allow the sauce the thicken before serving.
