Crock Pot Ribs with Coke

Report
Crock Pot Ribs with Coke offers tender pork back ribs slow-cooked in a mixture of barbecue sauce and cola. The ribs absorb the sweet and tangy flavors during the long cooking process, then are finished under the broiler with a caramelized sauce coating. This method yields ribs that are juicy and flavorful, with a sticky, slightly caramelized glaze. It's a straightforward approach to making fall-off-the-bone ribs using a crock pot and simple ingredients.

Description

The Crock Pot Ribs with Coke recipe involves cooking pork back ribs slowly on low heat in a mixture of barbecue sauce and cola. The cola adds sweetness and tenderizes the meat while the barbecue sauce contributes a smoky, tangy flavor. After about 8 hours of cooking, the ribs are removed and glazed with the reserved sauce before being broiled briefly to caramelize the surface, enhancing the texture and flavor. This results in ribs that are tender and coated with a sticky, flavorful glaze.

The procedure begins with trimming the ribs to fit in the crock pot, seasoning them simply with salt and pepper. The combined barbecue sauce and cola form the cooking liquid and finishing glaze, ensuring a well-balanced taste throughout. The slow cooking allows connective tissues in the ribs to break down without drying out the meat.

These ribs are suitable as a hearty main dish and pair well with classic barbecue sides like coleslaw or baked beans. Preparing them in the crock pot frees you to focus on other tasks while the ribs cook low and slow. For a more pronounced caramelized finish, keep an eye under the broiler to avoid burning.
