Cucumber Smoothie With Spinach
Description
The smoothie is made by combining peeled, seeded cucumber and fresh baby spinach with a creamy element such as silken tofu or non-dairy yogurt, providing body and protein. Non-dairy unsweetened milk forms the liquid base, and vanilla protein powder enhances nutrition and flavor. Pineapple tidbits add tropical sweetness and acidity, balanced by lemon or lime juice for brightness.
The smoothie is blended until smooth, with ice cubes added to achieve desired chilled consistency. Nuts or seeds like walnuts or hemp seeds can be included for slight texture and nutrient boost. The result is a green smoothie that is both refreshing and filling, with mild vegetal notes from spinach and cucumber balanced by sweet pineapple and citrus.
This beverage fits well as a nutritious breakfast or snack and can be stored briefly in the refrigerator, though best consumed fresh. The recipe suggests storing in airtight containers and shaking before drinking if separation occurs. It can also be frozen for longer storage and thawed carefully to maintain texture.
