Dill Pickle Dip

Dill Pickle Dip blends softened cream cheese with sour cream, chopped white onion, diced dill pickles, and Worcestershire sauce for a creamy, tangy appetizer. Optional pickle juice can add an extra bright note. The dip offers a balance of tartness and savory flavors with a smooth, spreadable texture. It is best made ahead to allow flavors to meld and served chilled, ideal for pairing with chips or vegetables.

Description

This dip starts by softening cream cheese to room temperature for easy mixing with sour cream until smooth. Chopped white onion and finely chopped dill pickles contribute crunch and tang. Worcestershire sauce adds umami depth. Optional pickle juice enhances the tartness if a brighter flavor is preferred.

The resulting dip is creamy with noticeable dill and pickle character, anchored by the mild tang of sour cream and the savory punch of Worcestershire sauce. It is intended to be refrigerated for at least an hour before serving, which helps the flavors develop and the mixture firm up slightly for easy dipping or spreading.

This dip suits casual gatherings and pairs well with chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables. Garnishing with fresh dill can add herbaceous notes and improve presentation. The recipe’s straightforward method relies on quality ingredients and chilling time to achieve the best flavor.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon onion white, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons dill pickles chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 or 2 teaspoons pickle juice (optional) add if you like a little more tartness.

Instructions

  1. Allow cream cheese to warm to room temperature to soften. In a medium sized mixing bowl mix together cream cheese and sour cream. Stir until well blended. Add in chopped white onion, chopped dill pickles, and Worcestershire sauce, and mix until you have a uniform mixture.
  2. You may add in 1 to 2 teaspoons of pickle juice if desired, it will give the dip a little extra zip. Store in an airtight container for at least 1 hour before serving. This is better when made the night before. Garnish with dill if desired.
