Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 jalapeno pepper most of the ribs and seeds removed, small or half large
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream full-fat
  • 2 tablespoons basil you need about 20 large leaves for that, finely chopped, fresh
  • 1 large or 2 small garlic peeled and minced or pressed through a garlic press, cloves
  • ½ teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Finely dice the jalapeno pepper (this should yield about 2 tablespoons).
  2. Add all ingredients to a bowl and whisk together.
  3. Season to taste with a pinch of salt.
  4. Serve with breaded and fried tilapia bites.

Notes

  • *For a spicier sauce, leave some of the seeds and ribs (the white membrane inside the pepper) in.
  • Storage: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 day.
