Easy Gravy

A versatile easy gravy recipe that uses rendered drippings from your favorite roasted meat. It's deliciously flavorful, it has a great consistency and it's the ultimate topping to mashed potatoes. Recipe yields about 2 cups.

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp fat drippings (from any type of roasted meat)
  • 2 cups chicken broth or beef broth
  • 2 Tbsp corn starch Argo® brand
  • 1/4 cup water cold; or milk
  • salt freshly ground
  • black pepper freshly ground

Instructions

  1. Cook fat drippings and broth in a saucepan or stove-top safe roasting pan over medium heat until hot.
  2. Whisk water and cornstarch in a small bowl until smooth. Add to broth in saucepan.
  3. Stirring constantly with a wire whisk, bring to a boil over medium heat and boil 1 minute. 
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve warm.
