Ingredients
- 1 cup buttermilk (250ml)
- 1 egg (size L)
- 3 tbsp melted butter (45g)
- ¼ cup sugar (50g)
- 1 sachet vanilla sugar (or 1 tsp vanilla extract)
- 1 cup all purpose flour (120g)
- ¼ cup cornstarch (30g)
- 1½ tbsp matcha powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp baking soda

Instructions
- Combine all the wet ingredients (buttermilk, egg, melted butter) in a single bowl.
- Sift the dry ingredients into the bowl of buttermilk and egg.
- Preheat your waffle iron. To prevent sticking, brush some melted butter onto the waffle iron's surface.
- Use a ladle to pour three to four scoops of batter onto the waffle iron, adjusting the quantity depending on your waffle iron's size.
- Cook the waffles until they are fully done (no steam rising from the waffle maker).
- Gently remove the waffles from the iron. Enjoy!!
Notes
- You can made homemade buttermilk by combining 1 cup (250ml) of milk with 1 tsp of vinegar (5%), allowing it to sit for 10 minutes.
- If your sugar has larger granules, you can mix it with the wet ingredients instead of dry ingredients.
