Easy Guacamole

This Easy Guacamole blends ripe avocados with finely chopped onion, diced Roma tomatoes, and serrano or jalapeno peppers for a mild or spicy kick. Lime juice and kosher salt add brightness and seasoning, while fresh cilantro rounds out the flavor. The mashed texture retains some chunkiness for a classic guacamole experience. It’s great as a dip or topping and can be prepared a couple of hours ahead and refrigerated under plastic wrap to minimize browning.

Description

Easy Guacamole combines fresh, ripe hass avocados with diced onions, tomatoes, and peppers for a flavorful accompaniment or dip. The serrano or jalapeno peppers bring adjustable heat, depending on how many seeds and veins you include. The ingredients are mashed together to achieve a chunky texture that balances creamy avocado with crisp vegetable bits. Lime juice not only enhances the tang but also helps slow browning. Chopped cilantro adds herbal freshness that complements the other components.

Preparation involves scooping ripe avocado flesh into a bowl, then mixing in the remaining ingredients and gently mashing to your desired consistency. Covering the guacamole with plastic wrap pressed directly on the surface helps keep it fresh in the refrigerator, ideally consumed within 8 hours.

This guacamole works well as a snack dip served with tortilla chips, or a topping for tacos and grilled meats. Allow it to come to room temperature before serving for the best flavor and texture.

For milder guacamole, de-seed and devein the peppers prior to chopping. Using fresh limes and adding salt to taste ensures the best balanced flavor.
