Easy Lemon Garlic Butter Shrimp
Description
Easy Lemon Garlic Butter Shrimp combines peeled and deveined shrimp with butter, garlic, and dried Italian herbs cooked together in a skillet. The shrimp are sautéed until pink and heated through, then tossed with fresh herbs and lemon juice to brighten the flavors. The garlic cooks just until fragrant and golden, adding depth without bitterness. The butter provides a rich mouthfeel that complements the seafood and herbs. This dish is straightforward and relies on fresh lemon juice for a natural acidity that cuts through the richness, making it both tasty and refreshing.
The texture is tender and moist shrimp coated lightly in a buttery, herbed garlic sauce with a touch of citrus. The cooking time is fast, only around 4-6 minutes after melting the butter and sautéing the garlic, ensuring the shrimp remain juicy rather than rubbery.
Serve immediately to preserve the shrimp’s tenderness and to enjoy the full effect of the warm butter sauce. This dish works well as a quick dinner, appetizer, or served alongside rice or pasta for a simple meal. Adjusting the lemon juice allows control of the brightness. Adding fresh parsley or cilantro adds a fragrant herb note.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ pounds Shrimp peeled and deveined, tails on or off, large or jumbo
- 4-6 tablespoons butter
- 3 teaspoons garlic minced
- ½ teaspoon italian herb blend dried
- 1 tablespoon parsley finely chopped, or cilantro
- lemon juice of 1
Instructions
- Rinse shrimp and pat dry with a paper towel. In a large skillet melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add garlic and dried herbs and stir for 1 minute or until garlic is golden.
- Add shrimp and cook 4-6 minutes, stirring periodically, until pink and hot throughout. Stir in parsley or cilantro, and lemon juice to taste (one tablespoons is a good place to start). Serve immediately.
Notes
- Adding crushed red pepper flakes can give the dish a pleasant and controllable spicy heat.
- Make sure to serve the shrimp immediately after cooking to maintain their tender texture.
