Easy Mexican Fried Ice Cream
Description
The recipe begins by shaping large scoops of ice cream into balls and freezing them solid to withstand the coating process. Corn flakes are crushed and toasted in butter with cinnamon to create a flavorful, crunchy shell. The ice cream balls are then rolled in a cinnamon and sugar mixture before being pressed into the toasted corn flakes to adhere firmly.
The resulting fried ice cream is characterized by its contrast between the cold, creamy interior and the warm cinnamon-spiced crunchy exterior. The final toppings of whipped cream, hot fudge sauce, and a maraschino cherry add richness and sweetness, completing the dessert.
This dessert is best served immediately after coating to preserve the contrast in temperatures and textures. The simple ingredient list and straightforward steps make it accessible for home cooks looking to recreate this classic treat without deep-frying.
