Easy Peanut Sauce Recipe
Description
The recipe combines peanut butter, soy sauce or coconut aminos, lime juice, honey, Worcestershire sauce, ground ginger, garlic powder, and a pinch of red pepper flakes, all blended with water to reach a creamy, pourable consistency. The ingredients meld into a sauce that is both rich and tangy with a hint of sweetness and gentle spice. Stirred-in chopped peanuts contribute an optional crunch.
This peanut sauce can enhance a variety of dishes such as grilled chicken, raw or cooked vegetables, salads, and Asian-style noodle dishes or wraps. Its balance of savory, sweet, and spicy components makes it adaptable to different palates.
The sauce stores well in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week, and can also be frozen for up to three months. Thawing overnight in the fridge and stirring before use helps maintain its texture. Adjusting the water quantity allows for customization of thickness depending on intended use.
Ingredients
- 1/2 /2 cup peanut butter
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce or coconut aminos
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- pinch red pepper flakes
- 1/3 - 1/2 /3 - 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 /4 cup peanuts optional, roughly chopped
Instructions
- Add peanut butter, soy sauce, lime juice, honey, Worcestershire sauce, ginger, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes to the blender or food processor. With the motor running, slowly pour water through the chute until the mixture is creamy and reaches the desired consistency. More water will make the peanut sauce thinner and less will make it thicker.
- Remove from container and stir in chopped peanuts, if using.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to a week.
Notes
- Makes approximately 2 cups of sauce.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- Freeze in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months; thaw overnight in the refrigerator and stir before serving.
