EASY Ranch Chicken Tacos
Description
Easy Ranch Chicken Tacos start by sautéing chicken breast pieces in olive oil until browned and cooked through. Taco seasoning is added without extra water, allowing the spices to cling to the chicken. Ranch dressing is stirred in last, blending with the seasoned chicken to form a creamy coating. This step creates a moist texture and a tangy flavor complementing the spices.
The warm tortillas or taco shells provide a soft or crunchy base for the chicken. Toppings such as shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheddar cheese, and chopped avocado add freshness, texture, and richness. Additional ranch dressing on top strengthens the flavor theme.
These tacos offer a balanced combination of seasoned meat and fresh toppings ideal for casual dinners or weeknight meals. For a lower-carb option, serve the chicken and toppings over chopped lettuce to create a taco salad with ranch dressing.
Ingredients
- 4 chicken breast cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1.25 ounces taco seasoning (2 tablespoons homemade)
- ½ cup ranch dressing
- 8 flour tortillas or hard taco shells, soft taco
Toppings

Instructions
- Place a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil to the pan.
- Once the oil is hot, add the chopped chicken and cook until browned and no longer pink inside.
- Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the chicken. DO NOT add water!
- Stir the chicken. Cook for 5 minutes until the taco seasoning coats the chicken and sticks to the pieces.
- Add the ranch dressing and stir until well combined. Cook for another 3 minutes
- Fill the tortillas or taco shells with chicken. We like to top our tacos with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and a little drizzle of ranch dressing. Feel free to add any taco toppings you enjoy!
Notes
- For a lower-carb version, skip the tortillas and serve the chicken and toppings over chopped lettuce as a taco salad.
- This recipe makes enough chicken for four servings, suitable for approximately four tacos or salads.
